Tina Jones has been an instructor for Columbus State University since 2001. In that
capacity she has taught classroom management courses for
pre-service teachers, methods courses in secondary English,
seminars for TAPP students, and has served as the university
supervisor for numerous student teachers, regular interns, and TAPP
interns. She has also served on several university committees and
worked with several grant initiatives.
Mrs.Jones retired from the Muscogee County School District where she taught English for twenty years before moving into the Professional Learning Department for her last ten years. During that time she served as the System Mentor Teacher for Middle Schools. In this roll she focused her expertise on guiding new teachers toward success in the classroom. She also taught professional courses for both new and veteran teachers.
Mrs.Jones has been a frequent presenter on the local, state, and national levels. She was awarded the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer Award for Teaching Excellence in 1998 and was inducted into the Columbus State University Education Hall of Fame in 2010.
